Come join us on the Canadian Horse Experience tour.  Experience the wonders of the Canadian Rockies and enjoy the Canadian wilderness.  Be awed by the amazing scenery with immense mountains, crystal clear lakes and abundant wildlife.

Spend a few days in Vancouver exploring this cosmopolitian city, walk through Stanley Park and spot a Racoon or Squirrel, visit the steam clock in Gastown, Canada Place, Capilano Bridge or Grouse Mountain with so much more to see and do.

On our way to the ranch we visit Whistler village a resort town in the Canadian Pacific ranges which was home to the 2010 Winter Olympics.

Enjoy your stay at Sundance Ranch with panoramic views to the Thompson River on thousands of acres. You will have the opportunity to gallop across open fields or just amble along scenic trails and enjoy the riding experience that’s right for you.  If you are not into riding there are plenty of other ranch activities to enjoy.

A stop at Wilderness River Safari ​on the Thompson River known as Grizzly Bear valley where we will go in search of bear, moose, eagle and osprey.

En-route to Jasper pass through Mount Robson Park, home of Mount Robson, the highest peak of the Canadian Rockies. In Jasper see Lake Patricia and Lake Pyramid which both have mirror image views of the mountains on clear days.

Travel along one the of  the most scenic highways in North America the Ice field Parkway and ride the Ice Explorer ride to Athabasca Glacier with the Glacier Skywalk. Some other highlights include a stop at Lake Peyto which has an amazing turquoise blue colour and the famous Lake Louise with Victoria Glacier in the backdrop.

Enjoy the stunning scenery of Banff and surrounds with a sightseeing tour of the area, Gondola ride to the peak and a horse ride through Banff National Park.  There will be time to maybe take a rafting trip or just relax in once of Banff’s many restaurants or bars .​

A highlight is a visit to Spruce Meadows to watch a CSI American Show jumping tournament.  Spruce Meadows is one of the world’s top Show jumping facilities, just south of Calgary on 360 acres.  The facilities host Show jumping and dressage tournaments, conventions, trade shows and also breed Hanoverian horses.

The climax of the tour is the Calgary Stampede Stampede “The Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth”, attracts over one million visitors per year and features one of the world’s largest rodeos, stage shows, chuck wagon racing and concerts.

Itinerary

day1(D) Friday 28 June 2019
Australia – Vancouver

Please meet at the airport for your international flight to Vancouver with Air Canada.  On arrival in Vancouver pass through customs and transfer to your Hotel in downtown Vancouver.  Enjoy a welcome dinner at a local restaurant this evening. (Includes flights, airport transfer and welcome dinner.)

Vancouver

Enjoy another day exploring Vancouver and perhaps visit Grouse Mountain and enjoy the view and the hiking trails and afterwards stop off at Capliano Bridge. (Hop on hop off bus tour included.)

Ashcroft 

This morning after breakfast, enjoy a morning ride through the cattle country.  The group is split according to riding ability.  If some members of the group prefer to do other activities, other ranch activities are available.  The Sundance Guest Ranch has a swimming pool, games room. tennis court with free access to racquets, balls, and massages.  Lunch is included at the ranch. After dinner enjoy an evening ride. (Two horse rides included, all meals and all ranch activities included).

Clearwater – Jasper 

After breakfast at the hotel, visit Wells Gray Provincial Park to see the Spahats.  Then travel by coach to Jasper.  En-route, stop at Blue River for a one hour Wilderness River Safari on the Thompson River.  This is Grizzly Bear Valley and you will go in search of bear, moose, eagle and Osprey.  Afterwards pass through Mount Robson Park, Home of Mount Robson, the highest peak of the Canadian Rockies, before arriving in Jasper. (Wilderness river safari included).  This evening is at leisure.

Banff

After breakfast, board the coach for a sightseeing tour of the town of Banff and its environs.  Highlights include the Hoodoos,  Surprise Corner, Bow Falls, Banff Springs Hotel, Sulphur Mountain (Admission not included), Lake Minnewanka and Tunnel Mountain.   If time permits, drive to Johnstone Canyon for a walk of the Lower Falls on partially elevated walkways. The afternoon is at leisure or to enjoy an OPTIONAL 2 hour Sundance Loop ride horseback adventure through the Cave & Basin along the Bow River. Includes transfers to/from hotel.  Alternatively, in the evening, an OPTIONAL 2 hour nature float trip on the Bow River is available, which offers excellent opportunities to view beaver, elk and osprey as well as the Three Sisters Mountain and some of the tallest peaks in the Rockies.  Includes transfers to/from hotel. (Sightseeing tour of Banff area included)

Vancouver

This morning after breakfast, enjoy a hop-on, hop-off bus tour of Vancouver.  Departing from your hotel every 30 minutes, the tour is fully narrated with more than 30 stops including English Bay, Chinatown, Canada Place, the Vancouver Art Gallery, the Steam clock in Gas Town, the totem poles at Stanley Park, and Granville Island.  (Hop on hop off bus pass included.  Admissions not included.)

Vancouver – Whistler – Ashcroft

After breakfast at your hotel, meet your private coach and travel via the scenic sea-to-Sky Highway, a stop will be made at Shannon Falls before the group continues the journey through through the Coastal Mountains.  Some free time will be available to explore Whistler, site of the 2010 Winter Olympics, and have lunch (not included).  In the late afternoon, the group arrives at the Sundance Guest Ranch.  Dinner is included at the ranch tonight.  Overnight at the Sundance guest ranch.  Sundance Guest Ranch caters to all levels of riding experience and is surrounded by thousands of acres of countryside to explore on horseback.  Horses are what the Sundance is all about, but there are plenty of other activities to choose from such as swimming, tennis and massages.  Each room is air-conditioned with private bath and daily maid service. (Dinner is included tonight and all ranch activities)

Ashcroft – Clearwater

After breakfast , enjoy some ranch activities or you may like to go for a morning ride.  After lunch at the ranch the group leaves Ashcroft behind in your coach and will arrive at Clearwater in the late afternoon.  Overnight at Clearwater which is located at the entrance to Wells Gray Park.  (Dinner is at a local restaurant this evening.)

Jasper – Banff

After breakfast, meet your coach and continue on one of the most scenic highways in North America – the Ice field Parkway.  En-route, stop at Sunwapta or Athabasca Falls before the group arrives at Columbia Ice fields to enjoy the Ice Explorer ride into Athabasca Glacier.  In the afternoon, continue to Banff with a stop at Peyto Lake and afterwards at the famous Lake Louise with the Victoria Glacier in the backdrop. This evening at leisure (Ice field Parkway, Ice Explorer included)

Banff – Spruce Meadows – Calgary

After breakfast at the hotel leave Banff behind, we head to Spruce Meadows.  Enjoy the rest of the day at Spruce Meadows watching the American Show Jumping Tournament, lunch is not included. In the evening a direct transfer to the hotel is included. (Visit to Spruce Meadows Show Jumping tickets included)

Calgary

Today is at leisure to enjoy the Calgary Stampede or enjoy further sightseeing on your own in Calgary.  This evening attend the Chuck wagon Races and the Grandstand Show at Stampede Park.  Transportation to/from the grounds is not included (Calgary Stampede tickets included)
