Overview

On this trail the Udaipur to Kumbhalgarh safari the entire ride will pass through the beautiful Aravali-mountain-range, past remote lakes, rivers and small tribal villages. Most tracks will be totally off the main roads.

The distance covered will be around 25-35 kilometre per day: 3-3.5 hours before lunch, 2-2.5 hours after lunch.

The Arravalis are home of people of the Bhil-tribe which culture is still very much alive in the small villages. We ride along the beautiful Banash river, visit a very old Shiva-temple in the jungle, called Jarga-ji and visit the beautiful valley of Kumbhalgarh with its majestic fort. The ride is not far from Udaipur which can be explored prior to or after this ride and other tourist sights and visits can be arranged in India.

Riding Level and Horses

Riders must be at ease at all 4 paces across varied, uneven terrain and be in good physical condition. You must be secure in the saddle and be comfortable riding for long hours. Rider weight limit: 220 lbs.  /  100 kilos.

All  the horses are pure bred Marwaris, a breed found only in India. They are svelte hipped, crescent eared, long haired, tall and energetic creatures, and amazingly soft to touch. They are beautiful to look at, and a dream to ride. Bred as war horses, their stamina and willingness to go is evident from the start.

Our horses are loved and cared for by our equestrian staff in all aspects: well fed, well shoed, well groomed and well ridden.  At the ranch our horses have spacious stables and a large paddock.  They are well-behaved and suitable for all types of rider.

The saddles are English and Indian Army Calvary saddles which are a bit bigger than the English saddle and very comfortable for horse and rider.

All horses will carry a saddlebag for your belongings

Helmets are strongly recommended and a packing list will be provided when you book the ride.

Itinerary

Accommodation and Food

We have found beautiful spots to put up our safari-camps, usually in the middle of nature, near a river or lake or near a small village. Sometimes we sleep in a small forest rest-house or at the premises of a local farm or temple. Our safari-tents are very spacious equipped with comfortable beds. A toilet/shower tent will be provided at the camping place. For larger groups we will take our trolley with 2 toilets and 2 showers . The camp has already been put up by our team when you arrive in the afternoon. You can immediately relax with a cup of tea. In the evenings we will have our dinner near a campfire. We serve a variety of vegetarian curries, rice, and Indian breads for lunch and dinner. Breakfast consists of omelettes, porridge, fresh fruits, yoghurt, cornflakes and breads.

Meals are freshly prepared vegetarian meals including breakfast, lunch, dinner, coffee, tea and mineral water.

All Indian food can be prepared spicy/non spice as desired by the customer

Your luggage will be safely transported from camp to camp every day. Your tent with your bags will be ready upon arrival.
